Education
Providing palliative care continues to be a positive challenge for all health professionals. The workshops and education sessions are designed to build upon and improve knowledge in various aspects of palliative care. Sessions are deisgned to be interactive to meet participant's needs.

PRIMARY CARE NURSE WORKSHOP
These workshops are available to all RN's and EN's working within primary care settings. The aim is to provide a forum for nurses to increase/update knowledge and skills for the delivery of effective evidence-based palliative care. These workshops come without a cost but booking is essential. Attendance certificates will be given to participants when they have completed the workshop.

PALLIATIVE CARE EDUCATION FOR CARE ASSISTANTS
The aim of the course is to provide information regarding palliative care approaches and understanding of the dying process in older people. It is aimed to build on and value the skills and experience care assistants may already have.

SUBCUTANEOUS SYRINGE DRIVER COMPETENCY WORKSHOPS
The aim of this workshop is to assist Registered Nurses working in Aged Residential care or private hospitals to increase knowledge, skills and competencies in the use of subcutaneous syringe drivers within palliative care The programme includes pre-reading of a workbook that is sent to you upon your registration. Attending a two hour workshop and completing a competency worksheet and practical component will be required as part of the course. Once completed your name will be added to our local register and yearly renewal of competency will be required through an annual update course.

GRIEF, LOSS & BEREAVEMENT WORKSHOP
The aim of this workshop is to provide an opportunity to explore the impact grief, loss and bereavement has at all stages of our lives.

AGED CARE FACILITY STAFF: CARE OF THE SOUL
This seminar/workshop is designed to assist staff in Aged Care facilities to care for the spiritual well-being of those in their care. Topics for discussion will include the place care of the souls has in palliative care, strategies for enhancing the practice of caring for souls, and what counts as "good death".

CLERGY/PASTORAL WORKER SEMINAR
The aim of this seminar is to assist spiritual care providers to develop their skills in caring for the terminally ill. The role of care of the soul within palliative care will be discussed. Tailoring spiritual care to the needs of particular individuals will also be on the agenda.
