RETAIL ASSISTANT  -  AROHANUI HOSPICE SHOP – OTAKI

Permanent Position

Part-time  -  Wednesdays & Saturdays, 11.5 hours per week

Specifically we’re looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Able to demonstrate strong and successful retail experience.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in the use of office technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in cash handling essential.
  • Prior experience of managing staff and/or working with volunteers preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial acumen.
  • Friendly and approachable manner.
  • Able to communicate at all levels and to be fully understood.
  • High degree of initiative.
  • The ability to organise, manage deadlines and to establish workable systems and processes.
  • Able to find solutions and is comfortable with responsibility.
  • It is essential that the appointee to this position is able to work flexibly and co-operatively.

SHOP MANAGER – AROHANUI HOSPICE SHOP  – FEILDING

Permanent position

Part-time – Job Share

Arohanui Hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients living with life limiting illnesses and support for their families/whanau; within the Manawatu, Tararua, Horowhenua and Rangitikei/Taihape regions.

Partially funded by the Ministry of Health via the Mid Central and Whanganui District Health Boards, the Hospice fundraises over $2.82 million annually to address our core operating shortfall.

We have a vacancy for an experienced part time, permanent, job share Hospice Shop Manager in our Feilding Hospice Shop.  If you have experience in retail work, are prepared and able to help us meet our fundraising targets, have experience managing on your own at times and have the ability to manage our enthusiastic volunteer staff, we’d love to hear from you.

Specifically we’re looking for someone with the following skills;

  • Are you able to manage our shop in an effective manner, working collaboratively with the Co-Shop Manager and volunteers to achieve agreed weekly/monthly financial budgets;
  • Able to demonstrate strong and successful retail and staff management experience;
  • Willing to assist with the promotion of the fundraising aspects of our business;
  • Cash handling and banking experience;
  • Experienced to intermediate level in Microsoft and  EFTPOS software;
  • Good communicator with good commercial acumen;
  • Have a friendly and approachable manner;
  • Have a high level of initiative and be able to work autonomously as required;
  • Able to organize, manage deadlines and to establish workable systems and processes;
  • Able to find solutions and are comfortable with responsibility.

HUMAN RESOURCE/PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR – PALMERSTON NORTH

We seek an experienced administrator who has worked in the area of HR and/or Payroll and looking for an opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. The role is a busy permanent part time position working within our

Human Resources /Payroll team providing high quality administration services.

Specifically we’re looking for someone with the following skills;

  • Minimum 3 years in an administrative role
  • Previous experience in HR and/or payroll administration
  • General understanding of employment and payroll related legislation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written format
  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of their work
  • Ability to successfully resolve issues and problems
  • Ability to cope under pressure and multi task
  • Has and uses initiative
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

We seek an experienced Health Professional to join our team. The Director Clinical Services is accountable for leading, developing and implementing the strategies and operational performance frameworks of the Clinical Services team within Arohanui Hospice. This role ensures that the vision and values of Arohanui Hospice are achieved through the Clinical Team and Services where a high standard of care is provided to patients and their family/whanau, and the hospice philosophy of palliative care within the interdisciplinary team and in the community is maintained and respected.

o Registered health professional with well-developed and current clinical skills and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience delivering at a senior level in a medium sized health organisation

o Proven record and experience leading and managing a team of clinical and other specialists to deliver a high level of service within a specialist health area

o Proven Leadership and Staff management experience

o Demonstrated understanding of the Registered Nurse scope of practice

o Comprehensive knowledge and application of operational business processes; the ability to contribute to strategy development, planning and reporting, compliance, budget and risk management.

o Proven ability to build and manage relationships across a broad spectrum

o Excellent communication skills, with good verbal and written ability

o Ability to successfully resolve issues and problem solve to successful outcomes

o Ability to cope under pressure and multi task

o Proven ability to use a good level of initiative, with ability to make and deliver difficult decisions as necessary

o High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

o Computer literate to Intermediate level with practical experience of MS Office software

o Demonstrated understanding of Hospice Philosophy

o Demonstrated understanding and application of the concept and the need for cultural safety.

o Knowledge of modern Health & Safety practices within a medical/clinical context
