Permanent Position.

Part-time, 11.5 hours per week (Wednesdays 9.30am – 4.00pm, and Saturdays 10.00am – 3.00pm).

Arohanui Hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients living with life limiting illness and support for their families/whānau; throughout Manawatu, Rangitikei, Tararua, Horowhenua and Otaki.

We have a vacancy for an experienced part time, permanent Retail Assistant in our Hospice Shop in Otaki.  If you have experience in retail work, are prepared and able to help us meet our fundraising targets, have experience managing on your own at times, and have the ability to manage our enthusiastic volunteer staff, we’d love to hear from you.

Patients, families and whānau are at the centre of everything we do and we are committed to honest, transparent and visible processes that reflect our core values.  At Arohanui Hospice staff and volunteers – our most valuable assets.

Specifically we’re looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Able to demonstrate strong and successful retail experience;

  • Prior experience of managing staff and/or working with volunteers preferred;
  • Knowledge of commercial acumen;
  • Friendly and approachable manner;
  • Able to communicate at all levels and to be fully understood;
  • High degree of initiative;

DIRECTOR, CLINICAL SERVICES

Permanent, Full-time.

We seek an experienced Health Professional to join our team. The Director Clinical Services is accountable for leading, developing and implementing the strategies and operational performance frameworks of the Clinical Services team within Arohanui Hospice.  This role ensures that the vision and values of Arohanui Hospice are achieved through the Clinical Team and Services where a high standard of care is provided to patients and their family/whānau, and the hospice philosophy of palliative care within the interdisciplinary team and in the community is maintained and respected.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Registered Nurse scope of practice;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of operational business processes; the ability to contribute to strategy development, planning and reporting, compliance, budget and risk management;
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships across a broad spectrum;
  • Excellent communication skills, with good verbal and written ability;
  • Ability to successfully resolve issues and problem solve to successful outcomes;
  • Ability to cope under pressure and multi task;
  • Proven ability to use a good level of initiative, with ability to make and deliver difficult decisions as necessary;
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality;
  • Computer literate to Intermediate level with practical experience of MS Office software;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Hospice Philosophy;
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the concept and the need for cultural safety;
  • Knowledge of modern Health & Safety practices within a medical/clinical context.
