Support for patients, families/whanau and carers
The Family Support team is an integral part of Arohanui Hospice; caring not only for patients but also for all those involved and touched by life-limiting conditions.
We recognise that each patient and family/whanu is unique and approach these journeys with their own resources and challenges.
The Family Support team consists of professionals who specialise in assessing and providing patients and families/whanau with:
- spiritual care
- adjustment to changing situations and expectations
- psychological distress
- social support
Understanding and managing our grief can be challenging and even difficult. Arohanui Hospice, through the Bereavement Support Team, offers several opportunities for those grieving to engage with us and with others as we each navigate our grief.
Through the Bereavement Support Service we offer:
- Bereavement Morning Tea at Arohanui Hospice
- Bereavement Support Groups
- Remembrance Service
- Individual Support
To access these services, please feel free to contact our Bereavement Support Coordinator George Dempster on 356 6606 or firstname.lastname@example.org
