Do you want to work in an exceptional organisation?

And earn a competitive salary?

Arohanui Hospice is looking for an exceptional Registered Nurse to take on the role of Palliative Care Nurse Educator.  We value our nurses and hence salaries are at least on par with Te Whatu Ora.  In addition, Arohanui Hospice provide excellent working conditions, support for professional development including payments for PDRP, and opportunities for career progression.  We are committed to staffing levels that are safe and ensure the best patient care.  If you need a little more convincing – we have great coffee and daily morning teas freshly baked on site!  We are an organization where values matter.

Arohanui Hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients living with life limiting illnesses, and support for their families/whānau; within the Manawatu, Tararua, Horowhenua and Rangitikei/Taihape regions.  People are at the centre of everything we do.  We are committed to honest, transparent, and visible processes that reflect our core values, and staff and volunteers are our most valuable assets.

We invite applications from Registered Nurses for the role of Palliative Care Nurse Educator, with experience in palliative care nursing, and education. The role will involve designing, planning, managing and facilitating the internal and external education program. The successful applicant will need to possess excellent time management skills, be a natural optimist, and be tenacious. The role involves many external stakeholders, so relationship building is key.

Palliative care education has impact on our community, and is pivotal to empowering not only Arohanui staff but also stakeholders, by imparting knowledge and demystifying palliative care. The successful applicant will have the ability to work as part of a wider team, have an inherent quality of motivating others, as well as possessing self-motivation and have the ability to work independently. This role is a key member of clinical governance, as well as other important organizational and external stakeholder committees. While some education programs are pre designed the ability to innovate is essential, so the successful applicant will also have an eye for developing and delivering programs out of the ordinary.

You will need to have an expert PDRP in clinical practice, and a minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma, and/or be working towards a Master’s Degree in Nursing. The FTE for this position is negotiable, but ideally at approximately 0.6.

Please send a cover letter and CV with an application form via email, or call Francie Hey (Director of Clinical Services) 06 356 6606
