Mō te tūnga | About the role
As Retail Business Manager, you’ll guide the strategic direction and performance of our retail arm. You’ll work alongside a talented team of managers, staff and volunteers — all connected by a shared kaupapa. Your leadership will help grow our retail impact while upholding our hospice values of aroha, whakaute, and kotahitanga.
Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities
🔹 Develop and implement a retail strategy that boosts revenue and enhances our community presence
🔹 Analyse trends, identify opportunities, and champion sustainability and innovation
🔹 Strengthen whakawhanaungatanga with donors, shoppers, and community partners
🔹 Lead, mentor, and uplift diverse teams of staff and volunteers
🔹 Report on performance, budgets, and KPIs to senior leadership
🔹 Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture guided by hospice values and Te Ao Māori
Mōu | About you
✅ Proven multi-site retail management experience and a strong commercial lens
✅ Strategic, analytical, and financially savvy
✅ Hands-on, values-led leader who inspires others to succeed
✅ Confident communicator who builds relationships across diverse communities
✅ Passionate about kaupapa-driven mahi, ideally with not-for-profit or social enterprise experience
