Palliative Care Study Day Workshops

Workshop: ‘Beyond the Basics’

This one-day workshop is a joint study day provided by the Hospital palliative care service and Arohanui Hospice.

It is designed for registered and enrolled nurses who have already undertaken some palliative care education (i.e. through their resource nurse role, NETP programme, the MDHB Palliative and end of life care study day, the Fundamental of palliative care or other palliative care education).

The day will include a range of topics related to symptom management, ethics and communication to consolidate and develop nurses’ skills and confidence in the management of nursing care for people with palliative care needs regardless of the care setting. Some pre-reading is required to optimise the day.
