Bridget joined Arohanui Hospice in January 2014. Find out why she loves her role with us here at Arohanui Hospice.
"Being Arohanui’s Business Systems and Reporting Manager is a role that I thoroughly enjoy. No two days are ever the same – the fast pace and variety are what I absolutely love. One day I’m providing general IT support and assistance to staff, the next day I’m developing and helping to improve business systems. From our patient management system to the use of technology in the workplace, to coordinating the Health and Safety for the organisation – there’s never a dull moment. There's a quote that inspires me:
To succeed in life you need three things: A wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone.
"Our multidisciplinary approach to providing quality care is dependent on our staff having access to ‘real-time’ information for the patients and families they are caring for. Our robust technology system makes this possible, whether our staff are located in Arohanui’s Inpatient Unit or out in the community. It is my job to ensure this runs smoothly. Every single day I get to work with amazing people – there’s always great conversations with other staff, as well as volunteers.
One thing I really appreciate about our Arohanui Hospice community is the inclusivity of all people.
What is aroha to me?
Being there no matter what; and providing an environment where people are encouraged to be their best selves.
